SAN DIEGO – Emerging Payments Conference

Mark Beccue from ABI shows how the industry is calculating sales forecast on Google Wallet using QSRs as an example:

– 1 of 4 americans visit a QSR each day

– Total QSR sales $163b annually

– 36.6 billions txs annually

– Avg purchase $4.45

So 100,000 of the 400,000 Sprint Nexus S users will visit a QSR each day spending a total of $445K/day or $162mm per year. If Google Wallet gets 30% share that equals $48.6mm per year in QSRs in 2012. Assuming of course all QSRs sign up which is unlikely, at least in the short term.
