It’s that time of the year again, when attention turns to Tax Day on April 15 — which has led Republic Bank & Trust, based in Louisville, Ky., to launch an app for tax preparers who work with the bank.
The app officially launched last November, was updated in December, and is now starting to garner attention during its first run through tax season.
During this time of year, tax preparation apps (and apps that track refunds) are among the most popular financial downloads in the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Even the IRS is in the game.
Republic’s app gives tax preparers access to the following:
- Intuitive charts that breakdown refund transfers by the number released and the number awaiting funding per disbursement method
- Daily notifications with the number of customers and dollar amount of that day’s Federal funding including the number of checks to print at approximately 4 pm Eastern
- Notifications each time tax prep fee payments are processed
Republic’s app has between 50 and 100 downloads for Android devices on Google Play.
Are we looking at a future where customers enter with their tax info stored on their mobile device and port it directly over to their preparers? As might be expected, H&R Block leads the way in mobile on the customer side, allowing users to snap pictures of their W-2 forms and personal documents in order to import them.
Republic Bank & Trust holds $3.3 billion of assets. The tax preparation app is available for download at the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
