Once again, Litle & Co. is the fastest payment processor in the world.
Litle & Co., a Vantiv company, is consistently the fastest payment processor, with a zippy average processing time per transaction of 0.8 seconds, according to this month’s Spreedly Gateway Index, which tracks and ranks payment processors according to speed, success rate, ticket size, and overall payment volume. Since the index launched in the summer of 2013, Litle has consistently ranked at or near the top of the list.
Payments gateway Spreedly, which works with a large number of payment processors, began life as a subscription payment service. It now facilitates payments for a global customer base of online merchants and small businesses.
Vantiv announced in October 2012 that it would acquire Litle for $361 million, and the acquisition was completed in December 2012. Litle specializes in processing card-not-present transactions for online merchants.
The other winners in the latest Spreedly data in October were as follows:
Success Rate: ePay — 95%
Number of Transactions: Stripe — 20,000+
Average Ticket Size: ePay — $819
Stripe is, of course, a well known payments processor that has scored a number of major wins recently, including powering the “Buy” buttons for both Twitter and Facebook, as well as many of the apps using Apple Pay, and, perhaps most significantly, a little-publicized partnership with Chinese payments titan Alipay. A number of companies counted 20,000 or more transactions with Spreedly, including PayPal, WorldPay, and others, but Spreedly ranked Stripe first.
The other winner on this list, ePay is less well known. EPay is a division of Euronet Worldwide based in Leawood, Kansas, in the Kansas City area, and specializes in processing prepaid payments.
