Amid Turmoil, Greece Turns to Bitcoins

Financial crises have a way of helping people find cryptocurrency religion, and the turmoil in Greece is no exception. Over the weekend, demand from Greece apparently caused hour-long delays on what should be 10-minute transaction times. And yesterday was the cryptocurrency’s heaviest trading day ever, with the unrest in Athens apparently to blame. Bloomberg posted a video of bitcoin in action in the birthplace of democracy this morning.
