PayPal is giving its merchant-clients an upgrade.
This week the company launched PayPal Business app, which allows merchants to to create and send invoices, manage account activity, withdraw funds, issue refunds, send payment reminders, view and edit customer information, said Arnold Goldberg, PayPal’s VP of merchant product and technology, in a blog post yesterday.
We’re excited to launch this version focusing on the above features and we’ll continue to add new functionality giving merchants greater flexibility and control to manage their business in an increasingly mobile world. Last year, we processed 4.9 billion transactions, and we currently have 192 million active customer accounts on our platform. We partner with businesses across the globe in aiding everything from payments processing to inventory services to providing credit for both businesses and consumers making transactions.
The app is now available for iOS and Android users in the U.S. PayPal plans to launch PayPal Business in other regions next year.
Goldberg emphasized that the app will be useful especially for the holiday shopping season. “For many small businesses, the ability to keep track of their operations, amidst a large spike in activity, is critical and increasingly mobile,” he wrote. The company said previously that a third of total payments volume in 3Q16 came through mobile devices.
