Joel Kashuba, SVP of Design & Innovation at Fifth Third Bank, has joined the speaker faculty for Bank Innovation Ignite, taking place March 11-12 in Seattle.
Kasuba brings fresh design thinking to the banking world. He has been at Fifth Third for about a year and a half. Prior to that, he was a professor of design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and also worked in several design lead positions in the corporate world. His MFA in industrial design comes from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Fifth Third has strengthened its digital banking and innovation teams in recent years. In addition to Kashuba, the Cincinnati-based bank picked up a new chief digital officer in Melissa Stevens, formerly chief operating officer of Citi Fintech.
Bank Innovation Ignite will be held at the Hotel Olive8 in Seattle, and will feature startup demos as well as sessions on data-sharing in the era of open banking, natural language banking, wealth management in the AI age, and much more. Attendees will also have the chance to seek advice and insights from fintech experts at the Innovation Bar.
Kashuba will join speakers from BBVA, Green Dot, Wells Fargo, HSBC, and more at the event, in which he will present at the Ignite Ideas session.
