How might Walmart leverage Walmart Pay with Jet.com?

In the wake of its $3.3 billion deal for Jet.com yesterday, what are the payment implications? Does Walmart want to spread Walmart Pay far and wide, or will it leave Jet.com’s checkout and payment processing alone? What are the factors to consider here?

Walmart has been investing heavily to build out its online capabilities but still has only 15% of the online sales that Amazon has. Jet.com’s e-commerce and delivery experience would help Walmart. Another element is the urban millennial customer base that Jet.com has, which Walmart has been trying to attract. Jet.com CEP joining Walmart as its Head of US Online Business is an indication that Jet.com’s processing will remain.
