JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 20, 2011 − FIS™ (NYSE: FIS), the world’s largest provider of banking and payments technology, today announced the Tyburn Group has selected to deploy FIS’ prepaid card processing services in support of the newly launched TrustCard prepaid card for U.S. military personnel.
The TrustCard is designed to provide military personnel with a convenient, secure alternative to traditional payroll and money management. With the TrustCard, enrollees’ payroll funds are deposited directly onto their TrustCard. Deposits are guaranteed by the FDIC and the cards can be used globally anywhere that MasterCard® debit cards are accepted – enabling participants to have immediate access to funds for shopping, bill paying or cash withdrawls from an ATM. An added benefit to the cards is the ability of participants to add a Family TrustCard for spouses or family members – significantly simplifying the process of sharing payroll funds during deployments.
“After an extensive evaluation, the Tyburn Group selected FIS’ prepaid card processing services in part due to the comprehensive capabilities of their solution,” said Christopher Haigh, president and CEO, Tyburn Group. “In addition, FIS’ attention to detail and customer service stood out for us; they were clearly superior to the other solutions we evaluated. We are confident they will be an excellent resource in delivering the TrustCard.”
“Military personnel, particularly those in deployment situations, do not always have access to the same conveniences as the average consumer,” said Frank D’Angelo, executive vice president, FIS Payment Solutions Group. “As a technology leader, we are pleased to see our solutions being utilized for assisting our military personnel. Through the TrustCard, they will have a secure way to manage their money, including receiving alerts through their mobile phone, managing funds online and the ability to add funds when needed, providing them with the peace of mind to know their loved ones have access to funds while they are away.”
