Square is making a move to corner the campus scene for new hires to spread its gospel.
The alternative mobile payment darling has posted an online want ad that seeks students to channel their inner salesperson and spread its payment message to local businesses, vendors and student groups. Here’s what Square is looking for in SquareU representatives:
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program on campus;
- Prior experience in sales, marketing, and other campus ambassador programs;
- Outgoing, motivated and friendly personalities;
- Strong communication skills;
- Passion for Square; and
- User of social media.
Square’s marketing effort among the younger demographic is a smart move. As the age group grows up, they’ll grow up on Square – which should be meaningful for its usage rates.
