Improvements in online banking websites aren’t going unnoticed by consumers.
After declining for two years, customer satisfaction with their banking websites grew in 2011, new research from comScore shows.
“Online and mobile banking grew solidly in 2011 as perceptions of the economy improved early in the year and financial institutions invested in further developing their digital channels,” said Sarah Lenart, comScore vice president for financial services, in a statement.
Certainly, major banks have been showering attention on their online banking properties of late. BBVA Compass has been preparing a website relaunch, while Citibank and Bank of America already made enhancements to their digital offerings in 2011. Maybe just maybe their efforts are getting recognized by consumers, even amid Occupy Wall Street protestations.
Indeed, comScore reports that “satisfaction scores for 3 of the top 5 online banks dipped in 2010 but saw an even larger increase in early 2011, bringing them back above 2009 levels.”
