U.S. Bank has partnered with investment advisory firm FutureAdvisor to provide automated, or robo-advisory services to its clients at U.S. Bancorp Investments, an affiliate of the bank. FutureAdvisor was bought by the world’s largest investment manager, BlackRock, about a year ago.
While roboadvisors have their advantages in terms of cost, the industry consensus seems to be to combine the efficiency of an automated system with the savvy of a human counterpart. This is what the bank will be offering by combining FutureAdvisor’s tech with its team of financial consultants.
Clients of U.S. Bancorp Investments will be able to use these services through their online accounts at usbank.com or through the accompanying mobile app, where they will see a range of investment portfolios designed by Bancorp Investments.
