Android users will soon be able to make P2P payments via any mobile app or mobile browser, thanks to the new P2P keyboard rolled out by OCBC Bank.
The Singapore-based bank reportedly launched the keyboard app yesterday, and puts a “OCBC Pay Anyone” icon within apps including Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram for payments. Users can also pay via the Chrome browser.
At the moment, the keyboard is available to download for Android users, who can send P2P payments to recipients with a bank account in Singapore. The payments are sent using the customer’s mobile number, according to the bank.
While OCBC does not have a similar product for iOS users, its “Pay Anyone” capability is integrated with both iMessage and Siri.
