South Korean technology company, LG Electronics could be bringing its own mobile payments service to the U.S. in 2018.
“LG Electronics said Tuesday it will launch its mobile payment system in the United States during the first half of the year, in time with the release of its upcoming mobile phone,” outlet YonHap News Agency reported earlier in the week.
The launch of the company’s “LG Wallet” mobile payment service in the U.S. would come a year after the service’s rollout in South Korea. The service relies on contactless payment technology, allowing users to pay simply by tapping their phones to a payment terminal.
