INV Fintech, this site’s sister accelerator, today unveiled a new partnership with Chinaccelerator, a leading startup accelerator in Shanghai, China.
Chinaccelerator is a mentorship-driven program helping internet startups from around the world cross borders. It is run by the venture fund SOSV, which has $400 million assets under management and operates six accelerators.
The partnership is intended to enrich both accelerators with an international exchange of knowledge between the U.S. and China, the two largest fintech markets in the world. Startups participating in INV Fintech can leverage Chinaccelerator’s network and resources, while Chinaccelerator’s startups can access INV Fintech’s ecosystem. Startups belonging to one of the two accelerators that wish to move between the Chinese and U.S. markets will get preferential treatment from the other accelerator. Additionally, the two accelerators will communicate regularly to share learnings and information.
“The Chinaccelerator-INV collaborative agreement is an important step toward creating more opportunities for startups in the fintech space,” said JJ Hornblass, principal of INV Fintech. “There is great opportunity for fintech in the China market, and Chinaccelerator offers the path to that opportunity for our valuable and dynamic startups.”
Chinaccelerator is INV Fintech’s exclusive partner in China.
“We are thrilled to partner with INV Fintech and help startups expand to new markets in the Fintech space,” said Oscar Ramos, partner at Chinaccelerator. “China and Asia are both a source of innovation in areas like blockchain and mobile services as well as an early market for fintech solutions. Looking forward to working together to help more fintech startups cross borders!”
