Diane Morais became president and CEO of Ally Bank last March.
Her first public words to customers: “Thank you.”
Ally last week released a new video that features Morais, who goes by the nickname Di. It appears to be Morais’s first public communique, and it carries a simple message: thank you for being a customer.
The message caught our eye because Morais previously headed Ally Bank’s innovation team, in addition to helping launch the bank, before being named its top executive. She has also worked on Ally marketing, so the message of the video bears notice. She clearly chose not to pitch innovation or banking features when marketing the bank, instead relying on a more tried-and-true “relationship” message.
